- "Sybil, wife of Robert, was in great danger in the time of the religious persecution, 1553-58, as was her sister Isabella, originally Gould, who was confined in the castle of Norwich, and escaped death only by the power of her brothers, who were men of great influence in the county. Robert fled for religions sake in the days of Queen Mary to Geneva, but returned later, and died at St. James. His will is dated Apr. 10, 1590, and proved July 28, 1600." [2]
